On September 3, 2026, Thomas Sideris’s 2024 film Gas Station or The Doves of Lahore was screened at Cine AVRA as part of the 9th Karystos Documentary Festival.
The film made its world premiere at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, won the Odysseus Award for Best Documentary at the London Greek Film Festival, and was screened at the remarkable People’s Film Festival in Kolkata, India, in 2025. That same year, it was shown in Pennsylvania, USA, supported by the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg and Penn College of Technology.
Distribution rights for the film in Greece are held by New Star Art Cinema, while since June 2026, the documentary has been available on the major US streaming platform Tubi.
Notably, the film was requested and submitted to judicial authorities as evidence regarding the June 2023 Pylos shipwreck, in which hundreds of migrants traveling from Libya lost their lives after their vessel sank under unclear circumstances. The Greek judicial system has indicted 21 Coast Guard officers for acts and omissions that led to the tragedy.
